When she was young, she dreamt of soaring through the skies as an air hostess, however, was advised against it as she was too young, nudging her towards a different path – nursing. Despite this initial redirection, Pamela has found herself falling in love with the dynamics of nursing, a career that would become her lifelong passion.

With over 60 years of experience under her belt, Pamela now works as a Telephone Counsellor at the 24-hour Maternal and Child Health Line, offering support and guidance to parents and children from birth to school age. Her extensive experience, backed by hospital qualifications and two degrees, has equipped her with the knowledge and skills to help solve a myriad of problems that parents and children may face.

Pamela's nursing journey has taken her all over Australia, from bustling metropolitan hospitals to tranquil rural and remote areas. Through it all, she has been supported by her loving husband and children, who have stood by her side every step of the way. Despite the challenges she has faced, Pamela remains dedicated to her work, always eager to learn something new every day.

Studying at Charles Sturt University was a pivotal moment in Pamela's life, as she vividly remembers the relevance of the subjects to her workplace. It was here that she honed her skills and knowledge, preparing her for the fulfilling career that lay ahead.

Outside of her paid role, Pamela's life is filled with caring for her blind husband with peripheral neuropathy and spending time with her family, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also devotes a significant amount of time to furthering her knowledge through webinars and online courses, a testament to her commitment to continuous learning.

As the first person in her family to have a university degree, Pamela is immensely proud of her achievements. She holds two degrees, one from Edith Cowan and another from Charles Sturt University, a testament to her dedication and hard work.
